Above is a picture of me on the camping trip.... looking well... mountainish haha.The next day we went to los queñes which is another mountain location. The river water was a lot colder there. A few other kids form school were there on vacations so we all went swimming together. The area is like a litle mountains town where a lot of people from curico have cabins. It´s easy to run into people. There was an arcade and food stands. It´s kinda like a boardwalk in the mountains.
A few days ago we made black berry jam. Outside of the house there is a huge line of bushes. They are so high that with a truck and ladder we still dont reach the top. We went out and picked berries for hours and came home with 3 huge bowls of berries. While scanning the blocks-worth of bushes, we found plums and grapes growing together.This is right next to our neighbors apple and pear grove. After a little berry fight, we bowled them with sugar all evening and ended up with 11 HUGE jars of jam. Ive never made so much before. And yesterday they went out and made some more. Right below is a picture of me wit half of the berries and the plums in my shirt. (we ran out of containers :))
Yesterday we also made lemon pie, cake and doughnut things, just cuz we wanted to. Im really loving the summer food here and im learning how to make a lot of good deserts.
Tomorrow, it looks like we are going to the beach which should be a lot of fun.
In a few weeks i think i will be going to the north.....
Love you guys and miss you!!!!! Ive been here 6 months now.
Im the only exchanger in Curicó right now but some more come in a about 2
weeks.
